Want to get off-road? Tourists can enjoy a guided tour of a
working New Zealand beef, sheep and forestry farm in our
four wheel drive vehicles. New Zealanders who want a change
of pace and scenery from the city life can enjoy the same,
or maybe you have a 4WD vehicle yourself that could do with
some dirt on the tyres? Bring it out and we'll take you on
a trip around and let you see what it can do!
Experience New Zealand up close and personal in a guided
tour of Oskat Forest Park. Our rugged four wheel drive
Jeep, or, for larger groups, Toyota Hiace, will take you
safely through fields, canyons and forests to visit
historical Maori pa sites, logging sites, waterfalls and
hay barns. Enjoy a rest at the rustic Kaituna River Hut,
followed by photo opportunities alongside friendly sheep
and cattle.
Your host Owen has an in depth knowledge of New Zealand
farming and forestry and local history, and will happily
share many stories about life in New Zealand and answer any
questions. Owen actively runs the farm, and can show you
not only the classic New Zealand farm animals with breeds
such as Coopworth, Romney and East Fresian sheep and Angus,
Hereford and Fresian cattle, but he has kiwifruit and
avocado orchards, over 100 acres planted in Radiata pines,
Eucalyptus, Lucitanica and Australian Blackwood, and a
portable timber mill - all of which he can show and educate
you on. Sheep shearing and chainsaw demonstrations can be
arranged. If you're pressed for time, this is the best way
to see a large slice of New Zealand in a relatively short
time.
A lot of Kiwis have 4WD vehicles and never get a chance to
go off-road. Well, here's your opportunity! We have over
20kms of maintained tracks that can test driver and
machine. We will give your vehicle a safety check for our
and your peace of mind, ensure the driver is prepped for
the tracks ahead, ask you to sign an idemnity form, and
then we will set off ahead of you in our own rugged
off-road Jeep to show you the way!
