Welcome to Oskat Forest Park
Hunting & Fishing Onsite
Hunting and fishing access to the park is $100 per day which includes your accommodation. We also have clay bird shooting for you to warm up on at a separate charge.
Our backpacker accommodation has 2 rooms with 2 bunks in each. You will have to bring a sleeping bag, food and refreshments. Cooking facilities are available. See the backpacker page for more information.
On site we have pheasants, goats and the occasional pig or deer. There are additional charges for shooting goats, pigs and deer. The Kaituna River has rainbow and brown trout and our park boundary has four kilometers of river banks to fish from. Fishing licenses need to be obtained from Fish & Game New Zealand, and we can help facilitate this.

Hunting & Fishing Offsite
Base yourself at Oskat Forest Park and from there we can arrange hunting and fishing trips off site for you. The Bay of Plenty is world renowned for its coastal and lake fishing, and Oskat Forest Park is less than an hour’s drive from the coast and numerous lakes. We can also arrange hunting trips into national parks and can offer all transport and spotlighting for night hunting too. The cost is estimated at $200 per day depending on your requirements.
